Hello and welcome to the inaugural issue of the SirsiDynix Gazette!
The SD Implementation Team will be publishing this blog on a regular basis to keep everyone abreast of the implementation process and to provide any instructional/informational material related to WorkFlows, Enterprise, and Blue Cloud Analytics.
This first issue will serve as a brief overview of what has happened so far and what we expect to happen in the near future.
What's happened since our go-live date of May, 18th:
The SD Implementation Team has:
- created an issue reporting form to track any issues or suggestions from all LS staff
- responded to over 250 issue reporting forms submitted by ourselves and our colleagues
- created a glossary to help LS staff learn the new ILS terminology
The Circulation Team has:
- created the wiki page Workflows Circ Central to provide staff with instructional and training material related to SirsiDynix WorkFlows
- customized the WorkFlows interface to streamline service at the Circ desk
- worked in conjunction with the Reference Team to revise the 5 Circulation Skills Essential for Librarians so that they align with the new ILS
- worked in conjunction with the Reserves Steward to create a new online Library Services Reserves Request form
The Enterprise Team has:
- added a Course Reserves button to the Library Home page that directs students to the Course Reserves page of Enterprise
- customized the search results page of Enterprise so that holds will now update in real time and a "holds counter" will appear underneath the item description in Enterprise when a patron places a hold on that item
What's coming in the near future:
- revised Quick Reference cards to keep at each Circulation Desk (before the start of Fall semester)
- regularly scheduled new patron data uploads from Colleague to WorkFlows (before the start of Fall semester)
- WorkFlows installation on all Head and Faculty Librarian PCs
- Blue Cloud Analytics training in early Fall
- until we are live with BCA, please use this SirsiDynix Reports & Analytics Needs form to request any collection development reports or analytic information
There will be a brief presentation at All LS in August outlining the implementation process and providing more details on where we are and how far we've come!
Keep an eye on your inbox on Wednesdays for an email with the link to the SirsiDynix Gazette!
